DESCRIPTION AND EVALUATION OF A PSYCHOLOGICAL TRAINING CLASS LASER RADIAL

The aim of this paper is to present the psychological training made a sailor preparing for qualifying for London 2012 Olympic Games, and analyze the psychological perception of improvement by the sailor and his assessment of the training performed. The psychological training took place over six months, including three sections: initial assessment, training and evaluation. In the initial psychological evaluation determined the strengths and weaknesses of the athlete’s psychological functioning and established goals to achieve. The psychological training focused on learning the art of setting goals for competition, competition plan development and registration of cognitive style during competition. In the final psychological evaluation assessed the progress of the athlete and the valuation of this on the program. The results show a significant improvement in perceived psychological functioning of the sailor, highlighting aspects of motivation, self-confidence, emotional control and beliefs, and a very positive assessment of the psychological preparation on indicating a high degree of satisfaction, and a very high level of efficiency.
