This research had as main objective to evaluate the utility of self-talk, used to enhance the effectiveness of first and second service in tennis players (N=9). The tennis players followed with their habitual training and also were trained about the application of self-talk through the utilization of words with high positive emotional component for each tennis player. The design used was the O1 X O2 type, which evaluated the utility of the self-talk through the execution of 50 services in pre-test and pos-test, and allowed to establish at which point was increased the effectiveness of the service. In order to determine the significance between both measures, it was applied the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank test; there was not difference in both measurements between first service values and second service values, however there was a significant difference in favor to effectiveness of all services and a decrease of double faults. These findings show the utility of self-talk in service execution
