To perform of physical activities and sports has multiple benefits for health and contributes to improve the quality of life and prevents illness. Physical education in school aims, among other things, that students adopt an active lifestyle despite the reduced time table according to Spanish law “Curriculum” (<2 hours per week). For this reason, the aim of the study was to assess the data available by relating and comparing the physical activities and sports after-school with the performance in various tests that assess basic physical abilities and the agility, arising from the combination of the previous mentioned abilities. 176 students participated (105 women and 71 men) from 2nd, 3rd, 4th ESO (obligatory education) and 1st baccalaureate, among them 49% practised some type of physical activities and sports after-school and the 51% did not practise any activity. Furthermore the students filled out a questionnaire and performed 5 tests of physical fitness. The results showed a better performance in all tests, in both genders, within the group of the male students major differences were observed in all the tests, with the exception in SR (p = 0.559) and in SL (p = 0.096) and within the group of the female students the major differences were observed in TILL and CN, no differences were observed in SL and the trend to change were observed in SR (p = 0.082) and 50m (p = 0.054). For this reason, it is appropriate to encourage programs of promotion and coordination with local sports clubs which complement the teaching task, focusing in general the performance of flexibility and, in particular, the one of endurance within the group of the less active students.
