IMPROVING THE COMPREHENSION OF ENGLISH-INDONESIAN TRANSLATION THROUGH TRANSLATION PROCEDURES ON TWITTER WEB PAGES: A CASE ON TRANSLATION

This study examined the process of translating Twitter webpages from English to Indonesian. The objective of this study is to identify the procedures involved in translating Twitter webpages. Based on the findings of this study, it is hoped that translators will pay close attention to the translation procedures so that Twitter users can use the platform without any difficulties. The researchers employed the theory of Vinaj and Darbelnet as presented by Venuti (2000:84-93), which outlines seven types of translation procedures: borrowing, calque, literal translation, transposition, Modulation, equivalence, and adaptation.
