Robust self-confidence consists of a set of malleable positive beliefs that are used to cope with psychological and environmental demands in sport settings. In Brazil there is a lack of validated measures to assess this construct. Therefore, this study aimed to: i) translate and culturally adapt (semantic equivalence / conceptual and content validity) of the Trait Robustness of Self-Confidence Inventory; ii) verify its psychometric properties (composite reliability and factorial validity), iii) verify the convergent validity between TROSCI and self-confidence of the CSAI-2R questionnaire and iv) verify the convergent and discriminant validity, through the average variance extracted and correlation factors. The calibration sample was constituted by 163 athletes (27.6% of women) with age average of 25.55 years old (SD = 8.44) and the validation sample was constituted by 152 athletes (30.99% of women) with age average of 25.95 years old (SD = 8.94). The instruments were applied to the athletes in training situations. The results indicated good psychometric proprieties for the calibration sample (χ²/df = 1.68; CFI = 0.96; GFI = 0.97; RMSEA = 0.065 e AIC = 52.12), as well as for the validation (χ²/df = 0.61; CFI = 1.00; GFI = 0.99; RMSEA = 0.000 e AIC = 39.32) sample for the bidimensional version of seven itens. The average variance extracted showed below the recommended cutoff (0.50) for both factors. Given these results, we recommend the researchers aimed to assess robust confidence in Brazilian athletes who use TROSCI.
