RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN COMPETITIVENESS, SOCIAL ANXIETY AND COMMITMENT WITH SPORT AND ACADEMIC VARIABLES IN YOUNG FOOTBALLERS

The purpose of this study is to determine relationships between competitiveness, social anxiety, motivational orientation, commitment and fun in football players (juvenile, children and teenagers) and the time dedicated to football, sports experience, importance attributed football and average grade school. It´s a non-experimental study, with an associative strategy which aims to explore the functional relationship between variables (comparative study). The total study sample was 62 subjects (21 juveniles, 19 children and 22 teenagers). A questionnaire ad hoc was developed and was used Scale Competitiveness-10, the Social Anxiety Scale for Adolescents, the Perceptions Questionnaire Success, Sport Commitment Model Questionnaire and the Questionnaire of Fun Subjects Practice Sports. It is discussed on the relations of these variables and are indicated some conclusions of the study: players with best middle school notes have less anxiety and social avoid to strangers, less involvement in the result and less social constraints; more time spent in hours per week in football less oriented motivation to avoid failure and greater competitiveness.
