Psychological interventions have increasingly gained recognition as a vital component in the management of hypertension. These interventions, which include cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based stress reduction, and biofeedback, aim to address the psychological factors that can contribute to elevated blood pressure. Stress and anxiety, for instance, can lead to poor lifestyle choices and an increase in physiological stress responses, both of which can raise blood pressure. By utilizing techniques that promote relaxation, cognitive restructuring, and increased awareness of one’s thoughts and behaviors, individuals can learn to manage their stress more effectively, ultimately leading to better blood pressure control.
