Engineering problem-solving plays a critical role in addressing complex challenges and advancing technological advancements. However, the effectiveness of problem-solving approaches can be influenced by various contingencies that arise during the problem-solving process. This study aims to explore the role of contingency in engineering problem solving and its implications for successful outcomes. The research employs a mixed-methods approach, including qualitative interviews with engineering professionals and quantitative analysis of problem-solving performance data. Through in-depth interviews, the study explores the experiences and perspectives of engineers when faced with contingencies and how they navigate through them. Quantitative analysis of problem-solving performance data provides insights into the effectiveness of different adaptive strategies in achieving successful outcome.. Read More»
